The Textile Industry in India traditionally, after agriculture, is the only industry that has generated huge employment for both skilled and unskilled labor in textiles. The textile industry continues to be the second largest employment generating sector in India. It offers direct employment to over 35 million in the country.The share of textiles in total exports was 11.04% during April–July 2010.During 2009-2010, Indian textiles industry was pegged at US$55 billion, 64% of which services domestic demand.In 2010, there were 2,500 textile weaving factories and 4,135 textile finishing factories in all of India.According to the ‘Retail Apparel Index’, India is ranked as the fourth most promising market for apparel retailers in 2009.

India is first in global jute production and shares 63% of global textile and garment market. India is 2nd in global textile manufacturing and also 2nd in silk and cotton production. 

Our director Mr. Jitendra Kochar, had his first stint with the textile industry back in the year 1987 as a shirt manufacturer. With humble beginings of 20-30 garments produced in a day, the factory under his able guidance reached a milestone of production by producing 1000 garments a day. Once export was introduced into the business, the company started to produce 1,00,000 garments in a month to satisfy the needs of the market. The export market consisted of locations such as middle east, Benalux area and Russia were the companies main export markets.

Mr. Kochar took a hiatus from the textile business in the year 2003 and continued to diversify his company into other fields which included consulting for turnkey projects and international trade of various commodities.

After a hiatus of 13 long years and getting a strong foothold in the consultancy and international trade field, Mr. Kochar now looks forward to venture into the garments industry again by setting up a website for small manufacturers to enlist on and get in touch with potential buyers from all across the globe, this website aims to be a B2B platform for manufacturers who are looking out for marketing expertise in the garment industry.
